Product Description

The Kahtoola Traction System was developed by hand in a small family workspace called “The Shop” in 1999 and set the direction of our company to develop outdoor products that matter. The KTS was the result of founder and owner Danny Giovale wanting to improve safety for snowy alpine approaches based on his personal experience climbing, and desire to create a product that would get people where they want to go and add a new level of security and performance to lightweight flexible footwear.

Inspired by the word “instigate”—to initiate an action or event—the INSTAgaiter protects against rocks, dirt, sand, burrs, light moisture and whatever else gets dished out on trail runs and hikes. Fit the versatile INSTAgaiter over your shoes when exploring to elevate your hiking or running experience.

ADDED SECURITY: An attached lace hook provides added security.
LIGHTWEIGHT: The INSTAgaiter has a fitted design that is lightweight, water-resistant, and comfortable while maintaining a high level of durability.

PRODUCT FEATURES

ADJUSTABLE AND DURABLE

The adjustable instep strap easily adjusts to fit a variety of footwear sizes and profiles, and is extremely durable (and replaceable) with an expected life of 1,000 miles.

FLEXES WITH YOUR FOOT

The asymmetrical zipper provides increased comfort as the ankle flexes, the zipper slider folds down at the top and locks to prevent unzipping, and a flap behind the zipper offers extra comfort and moisture protection.

COMFORTABLE FIT

A toggle lock elasticized drawcord seals out elements from entering the top of the gaiter, while a soft undergarment stitching lining the drawcord is comfortable against the skin, making it ideal for all-day use.

BREATHABLE MATERIAL

Carefully tailored for a snug, comfortable fit, the water-resistant and breathable stretch-woven nylon fabric prevents heat from getting trapped.

OUR COMMITMENT

From the beginning, we made a commitment to social and environmental responsibility, assuring any success we enjoy is shared by our communities both near and far. This brings us energy and makes the journey a lot more fun. One project that we are proud of is Kahtoola for the People. This program grants 1% of Kahtoola’s annual sales to support indigenous cultures and fund projects that improve communities, healthcare, education and the environment. Three times a year we award grants ranging from 250 up to 10,000 dollars.
