Sitting right in the sweet spot to handle basically any type of snow condition and terrain with ease, this ski blends characteristics of a powder ski with the power and precision of a frontside ski. Volkl’s signature multilayer wood core along with their Titanal frame construction create a very damp and quiet ski that offers seemingly endless stability at high speeds. Tons of torsional stiffness and a nice bit of camber through the center portion of the ski provide strong edge hold on firm snow while a bit of rocker in the tips and the tails keep the ski maneuverable when you decide to get into some more technical terrain. While the Mantra 102 might sit in the heavyweight category, as soon as you get it on snow, it comes to life and reacts a lot quicker than you might think, given its construction, weight and width. A lot of this can be attributed to Volkl’s 3D Radius sidecut which incorporates three different length arcs into the sidecut of the ski allowing for easier turn shape manipulation depending on how you weight and flex the ski.
